Portugal 2010 World Cup: Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santo Aviero

by Caroline on June 14, 2010

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santo Aveiro and Portugal have a rough road ahead of them in the 2010 World Cup. Placed in Group G or the “Group of Death”, third ranked (in the tournament) Portugal hopes to move up through the tournament under Captain Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santo Aveiro. Portugal’s biggest challenge will likely be Brazil who already has five World Cup titles under its belt in comparison to Portugal being semi finalists.

A formerly playing for Manchester United, Ronaldo now plays for Real Madrid for a record $132 million. Ronaldo has been declared the best player in the World over the last few years by a few different organizations. His star status has made him the face of advertising campaigns such as Coca-Cola, Nike, and Emporio Amani. Yet, the coveted player hasn’t scored for Portugal in over a year and may be begrudgingly handing over the “World’s Greatest” title to Argentina’s star player Lionel Messi.

Twenty five year old Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santo Aviero’s speed and agility paired with his amazing technical abilities on the outside mid will hopefully meet both Ronaldo’s personal goals and Portugal’s goals. Complimenting his soccer abilities is his build, Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santo Aviero stands at 6’ 1” and weighs 165 pounds. Perhaps if he decides to take one of his classic theatrical falls, he will even be lucky enough to fire in one of his dangerous free kicks.
